SEO is a big subject. There are many rumors and misconceprions regarding higher rankings in Google. Here are the two most famous misconceptions regarding high rankings in Google.

  1. Pay Google

People have been asking questions, like should I pay Google for getting my site ranked high in Search Engines. The answer is no, you have to work hard on your SEO without paying a cent to Google or any Google executive.

  2. Adwords and Rankings

Adwords doesn’t have anything to high search rankings. Your site will be displayed on the top in the sponsored column till you pay them for the advertisements. It wont affect your search engine rankings.

If you got to do your SEO you have to be patient. You have to do it honestly. You have to do it perfectly.

Google Toolbar Page Rank for every site has been updated today (I hope you have the Google Toolbar installed) . For those who don’t know what page rank is :

It is a rank given to a website by Google out of 10 depending on the number of links the site has on other pages.

Smashing Magazine has written a perfect article on page ranks.

My blog has got PR 0. As its new I knew this was going to be the result. Page rank is updated around every three months. There is no fixed time for page rank updates on the web. Just two days ago I had read Mattcutts (Head spam team Google) article on page rank update.

Page Rank is important for buying and selling links or reviews on your site. It doesn’t matter much to me right now, because there is no relation of high page rank with high rankings in search engines.

There is something like a fake page rank and a real page rank. Fake page rank is obtained by domains who redirect their sites to higher page ranked sites. (eg. www.yourdomain.com redirecting to adobe.com). Fake page rank is useless and has no value. You can check if a rank is real or fake page rank using this site.

When you start a site, submitting it to search engines is a important part. There are thousands of search engines on the web, but now you guys must be knowing that Google is on the top. If you didn’t know that you must be sleeping below a rock for years. When your site gets indexed in Google it is likely to get indexed in all other search engines.

I have read books and articles on various tips and tricks on getting a site indexed in Google quickly. Now let me clear one thing, Google is not going to respect any private tool or trick and get you indexed quickly. They will take their own time and its advised that you wait for Google. At least for 10 - 12 days for your site to get indexed in Google officially.

I read a post about refreshing Adsense Ads and getting your site indexed withing 48 hours. Now please don’t try such stupid things as this will show no effect on indexing and may affect your Adsense account. If anyone on the earth is charging you to get your site indexed withing 48 hours he is actually making you a fool. He is just making your site appear in Google. Your site appears within maximum 8 hours from the time you Digg it. You can see if your site in indexing status using Google Webmasters Tools. It took this blog of mine 9 days to get indexed. But only took it three hours to appear in Google after digging it.

Even if I dont think so, there may be some black hat technique to do so, but I don’t think you should introduct your sites to google bots with black hats . “Patience is a Virtue” so wait. It hardly matters if your site gets indexed in google withing 48 hours or a month. Search traffic won’t come to your site as soon as it gets indexed. The best ways to get it indexed is to build some backlinks and submit it to Webmasters Tools.

I have seen many bloggers and webmasters writing about Alternatives to Adsense and stuff. Let me tell you, there is not dam alternative to adsense at this stage when its making money on per click bases. There are many other alternatives to making money online, but comparing something like Text-link-ads and making money with adsense is incorrect.

Like adsense there are many other programs which pay you per click. But no one in the entire industry is as reliable as adsense and no one else pays you as much as adsense. There are other adserving programs like cpx, triablfusion, adbrite widgetbucks, yahoo publisher etc. but not one can even be compared with adsense. There is no problem in trying these but they wont pay you much.

Google Adsense is the biggest ad serving program with 55 % of the website owners using it. It pays upto $70 to $80 to $100 per click (Depending on your site niche. Niches like Insurance banking and loans pay more as compared to entertainment or freebies) , has the best tracking system and is improving day by day.So remember when it comes to adserving technology its adsense followed by others.

Google Ad sense is a ad serving program which pays publishers when they place Google ads on their sites and people click on those ads. You must have seen something like this on other sites while you were surfing the net.

Google Adsense
And you must have clicked on some of these. When you click on these ads Google pays the website owners and advertisers pay Google for this. Google Adsense is very useful for sites with high traffic. You can be paid from $ 0.01 to $ 100 per click depending on your site niche. Entertainment, freebie sites are paid less whereas loan, banking, insurance sites are paid more. The more the traffic to your site the more the clicks and more the revenue. I don’t use Adsense on LearningWebmasters.com but i will soon be using it.

Payments

Adsense is trusted and they pay via checks. They don’t have payment gateway options available. The minimum payout is $ 100. They send you a PIN number after you reach $10 to verify your address. They pay only if you obey their rules and regulations. Else they kick you.

What not to do with Adsense ?

I have seen so many publishers getting banned. This happens because they violate Google TOS, click on their own ads or do some things by which they think they can fool Google. Let me tell you Google is a billion dollar company with extreme dominance over the web. They understand everything and you cant foll them.
So be honest with them. Don’t violate their TOS.
